Energy & Climate
The research scope focuses on energy and climate challenges that will need to be faced by Poland, the European Union and the rest of the world. International factors such as problems with gas deliveries to Ukraine or the necessity of cutting down greenhouse gases in regards to climate change have brought energy issues to the forefront in the activities of both Polish and EU institutions. The Kosciuszko Institute prepares recommendations and analyses helpful for creating a unanimous European energy policy with consideration of our national interest.
The research examines matters of security (which can be guaranteed through various solutions serving to achieve diversification of energy supplies), the economy (possible energy investments adjusted by financial perturbations caused by crisis) and ecology (restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions introduced by the EU and the resulting consequences).
The Institute actively joins in the creation and implementation of energy strategies – constituting one of the most important issues of our national interest – which should include system-wide changes that serve the purpose of modernization as well as an increase in the effectiveness and security of Polish energy policy.
