Poland without corruption

polska Prezydencja

The project “Poland without corruption” is a continuation and an extension of the initiative “Małopolska without corruption”. The main objective of the project is civic education. The project aims at raising civic awareness and changing attitudes towards the issue of corruption. The aim of the social campaign is to make people aware of the problem of corruption and change their perception of the reasons for corruption.

The cornerstone of the project is an attempt to define what kinds of behaviour might be classified as ethically untrustworthy, making society aware of the fact that every citizen is able to contribute to a reduction in corruption as well as increase awareness as to who suffers losses because of corruption.

The campaign emphasizes the significance of social solidarity and the role of every one of us in the development of a civil society. One of the most important aspects will be an attempt to change the popular view that informing the proper authorities or superiors about corrupt practices is reprehensible.

It is expected that the project 'Poland without corruption' will have two levels:

1. At the regional level it consists of cooperation between the Kosciuszko Institute's partners in all voivodeships within the framework of all activities previously carried out during the project 'Małopolska without corruption' (workshops in offices and companies, educational projects in schools). The Kosciuszko Institute will grant a license for the program and its name to partner institutions in other voivodeships and it will coordinate their actions.

2. At the national level the program includes a countrywide social campaign as well as a conference summing up the regional activities. The Kosciuszko Institute will also prepare an expert report on the teaching program for the Ministry of Education. The expert report will try to find an answer to the question of whether or not (and to what extent) teaching programs deal with the issue of corruption.
