Common Polish-U.S. Declaration: Milestone Towards 5G Network Security

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence signed common declaration on the construction of 5G network. The agreement may lead to exclusion of some of the suppliers from the construction of 5G network in Poland.

“According to win-win strategy, Poland strives for safe construction of 5G network and for creating an ecosystem, which would be beneficial for the development of this technology in Poland”, comments Izabela Albrycht, Chairperson of the Board, the Kosciuszko Institute.

Construction of 5G network still arouses emotions in Europe. For some months, the U.S. have been trying to block the participation of Chinese producers in the development of 5G network not only in the U.S., but also in Europe. During Donald Trump’s recent visit to Bucharest, the Romanian and the American presidents signed a declaration which might exclude from the construction some entities, which do not meet the security standards. Yesterday, VP Mike Pence and Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki signed a similar declaration.
