The NATO Advisory Group on Emerging & Disruptive Technologies is a high-level group of 12 external experts from across the Alliance, nominated by the Allied countries and selected by the Secretary General to lead cutting-edge research, drive policy development initiatives and bring expertise regarding the strategic implications of emerging and disruptive technologies. The members of the Group come from a variety of different backgrounds, including academia and industry. They will interact with the Secretary General and NATO’s Innovation Board, Deputy Secretary General, SACT, and NATO’s Chief Scientist.
Today the Secretary General has nominated the following 12 members of the Advisory Group: congratulations to Izabela Albrycht who was selected as a member of the Group.
The Group will provide counsel within the framework of the Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Roadmap which was initiated in 2018.
“The Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Roadmap uses a bottom-up approach to conduct rapid and tangible demonstrations in realistic operational conditions in order to understand the potential of Emerging and Disruptive Technologies from both the opportunity and threat standpoints and to set the conditions to use them within NATO and its Member Nations.”
